    Marantz and banana plugs

    Hello gurus,

I own a Marantz SR-19 and wanted to find out if the binding posts in this receiver accept banana plugs as well? I have read on some posts that you need to remove some plastic caps befoer you can use them. I have attached a picture of the binding posts and (some) caps and was wondering if these are the caps that need to be removed....or does the 4mm banana plug just plug into the hole where the bare wire goes?..

Thanks to anyone helping me in sorting out this issue!!

    Marantz and banana plugs

thanks for your help guys. Basically what the tech at Marantz told me is to screw in a coarse screw into the plastic cap and pull it out. It wasnt technically as easy as that. I had to drill a thin hole in it first (7/64") and then screw in one of those small coarse screws that you find in computers connecting PCI cards to the case. Once the screw is in securely (1/4") then just pry off the cap and screws together using a flathead...and finally revealed the banana plug connection

hopefully this will help some other people out there for whom the caps wont just easily pop out!!
