Can You Repad Headphones & Who Does This

Can one repad headphones (the ones for home receiver use not ipods) & if so, who does this. The reason that I'm asking is that I want to repurchase a pair of closed headphones with great sound that were totally uncomfortable to my ears because of the plastic padding on them. Is there a way to get someone to replace the plastic with a more comfortable material & if so, who di I contact to do this? Any info appreciated.

Headphone parts are sometimes replaceable by the company, but usually as in the original. The problem with tinkering with any part of the can that fits on your ears is that the sonic properties might change. There must be people out there willing to do such a thing, but I don't know who they are. I'd contact the manufacturer. I'd also consider buying another set of headphones. The chances are that the ones you want to alter aren't the only ones in the world that will sound, or feel, good to you.
