Long speaker cable vs. Long source-to-amp cable??

Which is better? Which creates lower distortion?

My speakers are going about six feet away from my computer (source). Where should I put my amp...close to the computer (i.e. long speaker cables)...or close to the speakers (i.e. long source-to-amp cable)??

    note: I'm not using optical/digital yet...so that doesn't help.

In this case, you'd be better to have longer speaker cables. -Bruce

thanks. that's what i'll do, then. i was thinking of going the airport express route...but i'm worried about it not working that well and contributing to more wireless interference...which is not what i need in my place these days.
