    $40,000 Car Audio System (oem)

    Among the many jaw-dropping stats of the new $1.2m Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is who provides the factory audio system:

    Burmester!

    We all know of the JBL, Infinity, HK, and even Bose systems proliferating throughout luxury cars. Hell, you can even find Linn, Dynaudio, and Levinson without looking too hard. However, this is the first time a maker of truly hideously priced equipment has delved into the nightmarish acoustic environment of a car.

    I have to admit, I'm impressed.

    Of course, when you have a car that will hit 0-60 in 2.5sec and pass 250mph(!!!) before a minute ticks by on your Patek Phillipe, you should get something more than a Kraco and whizzer cones to soothe your frazzled nerves, right?

    It's part of the head-up display.

    I am still waiting for the time I can spend $40,000 on a car. Of course I would rather have a stainless steel Patek Phillipe for around $7,000. Good taste in watches.

    My mind is also in the gutter. I was just needing the extra room. But it is a myth.

    Thanks for the pic, Kam.

    Here's one with (hopefully) a legible view of the Burmester logo:

    And one of the car itself, all $1,200,000.00 of it:

    As for the Michael Twins;

    Take it to another room, guys.
