Would you provide us with more information regarding the application?
What room is this going into?
    How large is the room?
What will be the primary viewing sources?
    etc....
The more info we have the better we can help!

    Hi Robert,

    It's going in the livingroom
I have not decided if I'm going to put it over the fireplace or just on a stand
    15x17 is the area
Viewing sources will Dvd's and HD tv

The thing I always consider is room size, and viewing distance. With the proper size room (and viewing distance), I think Plasma is a very good monitor choice. With that said, I read good things about the Fujitsu P50XHA10US 50" Plasma tv here

Be sure to read Ten steps to buying a Plasma Television and take a look here to do some more research.
The one thing that concerned me with Fujitsu is this review. Realize this is a review of last years 50" model, but before I purchased the new 50" model, I would find out if the pixilation issues have been resolved. The reviewer mentions the Pioneer Elite as a better monitor.

I have a buddy that has this years model 50" Pioneer Elite Plasma. It is the best looking Plasma I have seen. You may want to take a look at that too?

    Hope that helps.........

I can't imagine that you could go too far wrong with the PQ on either of them, though I'm partial to Pansonics and Pioneers for their remarkable blacks. But Fujitsus are closer to the top of the heap than the bottom. Fujitsu may have cut back on their plasma production, but at one time, the company supplied the glass for a good number of the plasmas on the market. However, you'll be wasting your time trying to find a bargain Fujitsu. Pioneers aren't cheap by any means, but their pricing isn't as draconian.

If you're looking at Fujitsu also have a look at the Hitachi plasmas - they're all from the same plant. Actually, Hitachi owns majority share of the plant. the 55HDT52 is one good looking TV, and the Pioneer's are beautiful as well. Between those companies that you have narrowed down to, I would worry about making a bad descision.

With any of the flat pannel tvs out there now, the differences between last year's and this year's models are very significant. Reviews from prior year tv's really can't apply to the new crop of plannels out there now. This is one segment of the market that does change very rapidly.

    Happy Hunting
