    70's Yamaha Reciever repairs?

Does anyone know how I would go about getting a 70's yamaha reciever looked at and repaired? Would i need to ship it to yamaha or could I just take it to any normal electronics repair shop? What precautions should I take?

The problem is that the outs on the back don't seem to be working.

My 70's era Yamaha stereo went on the blink a few years back -- was only playing out of one channel. Took it to a local electronics shop and they fixed it for a reasonable amount of money. I don't recall what that amount was but I recall not being shocked by it. I never considered sending it to Yamaha because it was way out of warranty. Anyway, I figure they'd charge just as much or more plus shipping.

you might ask if anynone knows of a good place in your area.

Of course, you might want to say where that is.
