    How safe is a SCAMP?

I saw an add for a Parasound SCAMP (automatic signal controlled switched outlet). This basically sits between two components and will turn on the second component when a sound or voltage signal is sent from the first component. Is it safe to use this to trigger on higher end amps that require more power?

The SCAMP will switch up to 15A, so yes it is safe to use with large amps.

What can a large amp (say, 350W) be expected to require in amps? Does this requirement spike initially?
