    Tighten drivers

I just finished a periodic tightening of the woofer and tweeter in my NHT Superones. I wanted to share with people with box speakers that the drivers vibrations can loosen the screws holding them in place. I have owned several speakers that needed periodic tightening and if you are not aware this is happening the quality of sound is degraded. One interesting thing about the Superones is that it is the only speaker I know where the tweeter mounting plate vibrates loose from the magnet structure. Once the inner screws holding the magnet were tightened the highs were much more defined and lower in distortion. I would be interested to know if anyone else has noticed this problem or if anyone checks their speakers and finds that tightening the drivers was needed. Of course any tips to prevent this problem would be appreciated. Thanks

Try some Locktite on those inner screws...

...as, yes, vibration is the Devil's spanner.
