Can the JBL S26 be used as main speakers for music system? Just a pair of JBL S26 it self?

So to get to the point does the JBL S26 sound like the Control 5 or the 4206 studio monitors from JBL pro?

    no clue

I haven't heard ay of those speakers in a home environment. I do know the S26 is a low end bookshelf speaker will likely sound much worse then any studio monitor. Give the S26's an audition along with other speakers in this price range and pick the ones you like the best,

    no

You can buy a pure titanium dome tweeter for less then a dollar, and you can also buy one the costs $300. Do you think they're gonna sound the same? It's very likely they won;t. The exact same goes with the woofers and midranges. Just cuz they look similar doesn't mean they're gonna sound it. Both speakers also have different crossovers which is the heart of the speaker, The crossover will either make or break a speaker. The studio monitors should have much beter designed crossovers, matched with higher quality drivers and it will sound much better.

I ordered the JBL S310II fronts, C-center and S26II for the rear. The S26II arrived first. I hooked them up to my Denon 2803 and also hooked up my Velodyne CHT-10 sub and the S26II sounded quite good as fronts. The fronts and center arrived about three days later and now that I have the 310II in front and the S26II in the rear, my system rocks.
