    probably very stupid BUT...

    The video signal you get out of a composite video cable is actually a mono analog signal isnt it? so basically if you could connect that composite video cable to a lathe and cut a record with it, and then play it, and feed the amped output to a tv, would you see anything?
    i'm NEARLY sure i'm missing something, such as bandwidth problems and such. anyone help me out?
    I remember the days when I thought 128kbps sounded great and had never spent more than 10 bucks on cables...

    It is an analog signal and a interesting question but I don't think it would do anything because the frequency is different.

    If I remember correctly RCA at one time tried to sell a video playback system that used a stylus tracking a vinyl disk. The fact that almost no one knows about it is your answer.
