Yes remasters: Atlantic -v- Rhino reissues

Has anyone compared the first wave of remasters that first appeared about ten years ago to the newest Rhino reissues? And real improvement, or did they just mix them to be louder as to be comparible to modern releases?

Yes, it's definitely an improvement. Let's put it this way -- if I had heard the Japanese HDCD releases and these, I may not have felt so obliged to pay US$30/disk for the Japanese HDCD remasters.
