    Spock's Beard - Octane?

Has anyone here read any advanced buzz about this CD?

You really should check out Progressive Ears.

There's a four page thread on this now.

I haven't heard it yet. I'll dig up a copy sometime, but after Feel Euphoria the band is no longer and auto-purchase.

Lots of talk about it here:

Maybe I'll see it on sale at BestBuy (where I've seen the last fews SB albums). There does seem to be some mixed opinions on this release, and it seems to be biased toward one genre or another (mainstream rock -v- prog). Maybe SB is moving away from prog the way Genesis did. The album And Then There Were Three was dreadful but Duke really did turn out to be a good album and is still a good sounding album even today, as its sound doesn't seem to be tied to any point in time, unlike their last two or three albums, which are irreversibly tied to mid '80s pop pablum (well, the first half '83's Genesis was good, then they nose-dived from there).

    Man,

...and then there were three... is frikking excellent, to me, but, I'm a Genesis nut, at least thru Duke...

I also don't care for Spocks Beard altho I have their titles...Transatlantic is about as far as I can go with Morse...the dvd is pretty good...

I'm kind of curious about the new Spock's because of the supposed new hard rock angle. I haven't even heard Feel Euphoria or any Neal Morse solo. SB are sort of hit or miss with me. When they're good they're spot on, but when they aren't, they're just as cornball as The Flower Kings, imo.
