What's your favorite song about rain?

    It was pouring here this morning, a welcome sight for an area that has been a little dry for most of this summer. I starting thinking about songs with rain in the title or had a rainy theme, and there's a ton of them. Naming my favorite was a difficult chore, and perhaps I took the easy way out with an obvious one;

Have You Ever Seen the Rain - Credence Clearwater Revival

Anyone who lists 'Laughter in the Rain' will be sentenced to death.
I call my bathroom Jim instead of John so I can tell people that I go to the Jim first thing every morning.

I have two from the same album.

    Rainy Day....Dream Away
    Still Raining.....Still Dreaming

    Jimi Hendrix

It's just starting to rain here at 9:30. Thunder in the distance. I was going to cut the grass this morning before the rain. I did wash the car on Sunday, I wonder if that did it.

    Talking What Rain??

Rain? What's that? Haven't had any on the island since April, Swishmeister.

One of my all-time favorites is Ain't No Sunshine. I can't decide which version I like best, since both are top shelf in my books - Bill Whithers and Jose Feliciano.

On a side note - I am pumped about getting together in a couple of weeks

I'm kinda partial to that extended David Eugene Edwards version in modern times ... Turkey Tunes

How about Dylan's "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall", that's always been a favorite, love the Leon Russel version too. One could argue that as a protest song, it isn't really about rain, but the same applies to some of the others mentioned.

Oh, what’ll you do now, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, what’ll you do now, my darling young one?
I’m a-goin’ back out ’fore the rain starts a-fallin’
    ...
But I’ll know my song well before I start singin’
    And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
    It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Rain isn't mentioned in the lyrics of 'Ain't No Sunshine' buddy! See what happens when you haven't seen rain all summer?

The Rain it Raineth - Dog Faced Hermans one of my all time fave's for rain, or any reason... I'm also very partial to blasting some Electric Ladyland when it's raining outside.

Amanda Marshall - Let It Rain

Marshall is a Canadian singer who had a very promising career but fell out of the spotlight for unknown reasons after her third CD. As far as I know she only does one show a year now, at a local Casino. Maybe they pay her enough so that she only has to work one day a year. That would be a nice gig.

LOL! We saw her live very early on in her career, probably around the time of the video that I posted and her constant wrist flopping drove us crazy. It was very distracting. Then we saw her again a few years later and she had obviously had some lessons on stage presence as her physical actions were very different and very toned down. Much less distracting to watch.

When you're here, remind me to give you a copy of her first CD. I think that you'll really enjoy it.

I just heard another great one that fits this category.

Happy When it Rains - The Jesus and Mary Chain

I'd all but forgotten this gem until I heard is on Sirius XMU yesterday. As usual, the sound was terrible but the song brought back some great memories.
