Sometimes you have to choose between the two.

    You And Me

When I got home from work
I wanna wrap myself around you
I wanna take you and squeeze you
'till the passion starts to rise.
I wanna take you to heaven
that would make my day complete

but you and me ain't movie stars
what we are is what we are
we share a bed some lovin' and t.v. yeah.
That's enough for a workin' man
what I am is what I am
    and I tell you babe
    well that's enough for me.

    Sometimes when you're asleep and
I'm just starin' at the ceiling
I wanna reach out and touch you
but you just go on dreamin'.
If I could take you to heaven
that would make my day complete

but you and me ain't movie stars
what we are is what we are
    and I tell you babe
    well that's enough for me.
You and me ain't no superstars
what we are is what we are

we share a bed some popcorn and t.v. yeah.
And that's enough for a workin' man
what I am is what I am
    and I tell you babe
    well that's enough for me.

When I got home from work
I wanna wrap myself around you
I like to hold you and squeeze you
'till the passion starts to rise.
I wanna take you to heaven
that would make my day complete ...

    LMAO

Studies a decade or so ago found that children of broken or single parent households were more advanced at verbal communication than children in traditional two-parent households. But children from two-parent families were much better at sarcastic reparte. (ok I added that last part)

Those seem to get harder to find all the time. I had to travel 11,000 miles to find one.
Do you have any frequent flyer miles built up?

It Seems So Luck Just To Have The Right...

I wanted a modern classic that they would still be playing in 20 years as muzak so that sometime, somewhere, in a shopping mall or elevator or doctor's office, I would still hear that song.

Our first song was Gordon Lightfoot's classic Beautiful:

At times I just don't know
How you could be anything but beautiful
I think that I was made for you
And you were made for me

And I know that I won't ever change
We've been friends through rain or shine
For such a long, long time

    Laughing eyes and smiling face
It seems so lucky just to have the right
Of telling you with all my might
    You're beautiful tonight

And I know that you won't ever stray
Cause you've been that way from day to day
For such a long, long time

And when you hold me tight
How could life be anything but beautiful
I think that I was made for you
And you were made for me

And I know that I won't ever change
We've been friends through rain or shine
For such a long, long time

Well, I must say it means so much to me
To be the one who's telling you
I'm telling you, that you're beautiful.

Same here, non-traditional wedding for the most part. I would choose as the 1st dance Firehouse, Finally Found A Love Of A Lifetime. My wife would probably want Savage Garden, I Loved You Before I Met You. Departing would probably be something distasteful like Van Halen, Black & Blue. An alternate first song might be Garth Brookes, If Tomorrow Never Comes.

Kex, Tasmin & I thank you. Tasmin because you just sold one of her albums and me because I had forgotten about her. I heard something by her at an audio show and liked it. The guy told me her name, this has been some years ago, I believe I tried to find something but nothing was available and had since forgotten. I found some titles available on Amazon and snagged one.

At our wedding our first dance was to the Beatles "Here, There and Everywhere" not easy to dance to but the lyrics are right. I wanted to boogie down the aisle after the wedding ceremony to Genesis' "Follow You-Follow Me" but we could not manage that. As it was the church had an amazing pipe organ (you actually were hit by the sound when you stood up front) and the organist played us out with some Bach as I recall.
