    Hey Frenchy,

I was in St Louis/St Charles 2 weeks ago. I'm jealous you guys have a Jazz radio. I think it was around 88.7. Worked until 11PM that day and drove straight back KY on next day. Wish I could've spent time with you and Mr. P.

HeHeHe. I had no choice really. I wanted to swing by your place and play with our toys, but things are hectic at work. I've put in 1400 hours of overtime this year without compensation. It took me 3 weeks to catch up because I was working 14 days straight outside of office.

I'll back again sometime this year, so get ready to spin some wax.

Yes it should, but I'm on salary.
I did manage to acquire a pair of Tyler Acoustics Linbrook 2 this week so hopefully they make me forget about last year. They should arrive on Monday so

If you'd like to listen - spacing indie rock - trippy effects and spacey vocals - not to bad - it is out on vinyl if you are so inclined

    Joker's Daughter -
The atmospheric folk-pop outfit Joker's Daughter is a collaboration between English-by-way-of Greece singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Helena Costas and genre-bending hip-hop artist/producer Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Danger Doom, DM & Jemini)..... more on allmusic.com

I have to say, so far so good. Interesting mix between female vocales, beats, strings, atmosphere, folk singing, guitar and noise. Much better than Danger Mouse and singer from The Shins.

yeah - this is awesome! i guess i've been on a DM kick since I heard PC suggested DM&Gemini - but this one reminds me of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots but more mellow in sounds but still big and robust. Def going to look for this one on vinyl.

edit - well - now by track 4 styles have changed, kind of sad....

^ that, along with Billy Joel 'Strangers', were the first two albums I ever got. (*edit: too slow, my ^ indicator was supposed to reference Queen's Flash Gordon soundtrack...)

np: 'Marcus Garvey' - Burning Spear, loud on the front porch with a Red Stripe in hand...

Man, I really like this EP a lot, but it's been awhile since I've spun it. I will have to remedy that soon. It's too bad they never matched the quality of this EP over any of their full lengths.

I saw a Terri Nunn interview some years ago. She sounded displeased about the music they were pressured to record in their heyday.

recently picked up a Lafayette receiver and Criterion speakers. hooked up a tape deck to it this evening and plundered a closet for my old tape case. Found Southern Culture on the Skids "For Lovers Only" and listened til sunset. Nice evening.
