Yeah, I'm gonna really need some of that Turrentine. You just gotta let me know where I should start first.

If you liked that Slackers, try Afternoon in Dub. I should be able to hook you up. All instrumentals, but another good one by them.

Can't think of a better way to defeat the snowy blues. Anybody heard Byron Lee and The Dragonaires? I have 7 of their LPs, all original. Very rare. Of course they are all digitized but I like to listen to the Lps occasionally. All instrumental ska/rocksteady.

OK my night will be irie now. Boh!!!

    Shelby Lynne's most-recent...

Could perhaps be my new favorite Shelby offering.

Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outer Space!

Yeah, this release almost seems inevitable as soon as you see it. It's actually 2 CDs, the first one gathering new tracks or at least new versions of tracks from modern Dubstep artists like Kode 9, Shackleton, Loefah, Mala, and King Midas Sound. The second disc Scientist takes it all and remixes the hell out of it. If that sounds like a good idea; it is. If you like this ****, you likely really need this.

Ya, I have been trying to monkey around with pics. Hosting from somewhere else is the best way.

You're going to have to start a disk by disk review thread now.

That would be quite an undertaking. Besides, I like Elvis way too much to be objective. It would totally be a skewed perspective.

^ my fave Muses, the vinyl has a cool extra disc of Kristin Hersch doing most of the songs solo acoustic...

    O.I.C.!

That Sonic Youth cover is really bringing me down memory lane. "The Sonic Youth". I had an orange t-shirt screenprinted with that album art that I wore continuously from age 14 to 22... at least that's how I remember it. It's still in my drawer but somehow unlike most t-shirts that get softer and softer with age this one has somehow calcified to the point that it is almost painful to wear because of all the little hard stabby points in the seams.

Great album, and cool cover with the pic of Husker Du on the wall.

Just thought I'd chime in to say I really dig that Tobacco too. I liked the last Tobacco disc, but this one is even better if you're into fuzzy grimey techno sleaze.

Of course, I'm still just listening to Elvis.
