Heads up fans of old school Genesis:

The Musical Box will be touring The Lamb Lies down on Broadway.

    This is incredible news.

They are the only band ever besides Genesis who has permission to use the original slides for the Lamb show.

I have seen this band three times now and to say they are good is an understatment of the 3rd order.

If you like old Genesis, you owe it to yourself to try to make one of the gigs.

    The schedule isn't firm yet.

I am way fired up, this is a rare opportunity to see/hear that killer album live.

Oh great. Now all I need to do is move to Germany!

I'd love to see this band. They are legendary in geezer prog circles.

    I second Dave's enthusiasm!

I've seen The Musical Box perform Lamb and Selling England By The Pound. Both shows were outstanding although, I must say that, I enjoyed Lamb the best.

"Cover Band" doesn't do justice to The Musical Box's performance. These guys do more than just play the music. They recreate the show. It's the closest you're ever gonna get to seeing Genesis live (unless, of course, you've already seen Genesis live, then this will be the 2nd closest ).

It's rare that I sit stunned at a gig, but the first time I saw TMB, it was the "black" Selling England show, I was literally stunned.

Like most people there, I have played all those albums a zillion times and never figured I would hear that stuff live.

But once they start, it just transported me to another place, watching the great Denis Gange sing those great songs with those incredible outfits and all.

It would be worth traveling to see this band.

A friend of mine is going to both the Toronto gigs in March, lucky him.

A friend of mine bought a clump of tix and I get to see this spectacle this Sat night at the Borgota casino in Atlantic City (aka Frantic City). Should be a hoot to get together with some old buds and relive our glory days, eight of us are piling into his Expediton for the hour ride. I saw Genesis during the Selling tour in 74 or so, at the Tower theatre, it was like a combination play and concert, with all the costumes and lights and stuff. Or maybe I just hallacinated that memory, but I'm nearly sure it was real. TMB is also doing a show Fri night just before Nearfest, hopefull that'll be the Lamb ?? Thanks for the link G man, if I get an xtra ticket for Nearfest, consider coming up ?

Nearfest, The Musical Box, Pallas, Strawbs

    Richmon,

Nearfest tix go on sale soon, I think like the 20th or something like that.

I might be able to consider attending, but as a father of 2 plus a wife, makes for pulling off something like that difficult.

But hey, you know, I deserve a break this year!

Ya, you will love The Musical Box, and no, they are doing a Selling England gig, which is excellent.

    Dave
