    Weird Wednesday
    Got anything weird to say?

    I'm obsessed with these dolls.

Notice the little indie band button? This one's not mine, but I have one like her named Tori. And another named Polly Jean. And another named Neko. Get it?

I forgot Flaming Lips made me happy. El Caminos in the West reminds me of Troy. Click, Click, Click.

    I'm bored.

You mean Grandaddy? :) I can see how they can get confuzzled.

In other news, my kids' favorite bands are the Roches, the B-52's, The Black Eyed Peas and Raffi.

You should see them dance to "My Humps"

    :)

You look so elegantly bored now
Totally at ease with it all, yeah
Whilst you were drunk, oh you let it all slip
I hope and pray that it's okay

    ....

I bought you mail order my plain wrapper baby
Your skin is like vinyl the perfect companion
You float in my new pool deluxe and delightful
Inflatable doll my role is to serve you

    ...

    My baby called me up
She said, "Why don't you ever take me out?
Pick me up in your brand new car
You shake the short change from your old fruit jar"

I put on my dancin' shoes
We headed straight for the rhythm and blues
The music was hot, but my baby was not

I've got a rocket in my pocket, I said rocket
    Ya fingers in the socket
Fingers in the socket, fingers in the socket

    ...

I got up at half past four
    forty-four robbers around my door
    forty-four - and maybe more
what the hell they want me for?
    stubbly faces & gap-tooth grins
ain't no way I'm lettin' them in

Hahahaha! Omygawd! If I wasn't at work you'd think I'd been drinking! I even have the "real" CD sitting on my desk! :o

Howdy, Jar. I hate to ask this, cause its probably going to make us both feel old, but how old is that baby girl of yours now.

And "MY HUMPS"! :yikes: You gotta get that on tape for future embarrassment!

Cool! I recognize the last one from Pirates and Mermaids!

Song #2 is perfect! Have no idea what it is?

    Is #3 T-Rex?

    I think I recognize #1 elegantly bored...

I'm not going to Google. Yet...

(OMG who owns Marc Bolan's catalogue? I heard one of his songs on a commercial but I muted it so fast, I don't even know which song it was or what the commercial was! Blech!)

Yeah, I heard Bang A Gong recently, not sure where. Maybe a Viagra ad, eh? ;)

I know that a couple ads have used 20th Century Boy, but I don't think recently. And somebody might have used The Slider? I don't really mind, in fact sometimes I enjoy it if the commercial is well done and the song is somewhat obscure. But Bang A Gong was a big hit so that one doesn't work well for me either. Now "Planet Queen", that would be cool.

My 10 year old girl is into the Bratz dolls, even has some funky old school Bratz roller skates. At least those don't creep me out like yours do. :eek6:

Yeah, I picture you as an El Camino kinda guy driving all night with a 2 litre pop bottle full of pee rolling around on the rusty floorboards bumping into your grubby sandal-clad feet and occasionally wedging itself under the clutch.

Oh, and you're wearing a black t-shirt and doing the speed limit.

You know, the whole peeing into the 2 liter soda bottle on a long drive thing is just f'd up. Over the last 5 years or so I've seen them laying on the side of the interstates almost as often as you see shredded recaps. You never USED to see that. If you gotta pee Mr. Long-haul-trucker, just stop, ok?

Black t-shirts get too hot in the desert.

Other than that, you got it pretty close.

Nice dolls. Do you collect Keane paintings too?

OMG, I completely forgot about those! I had notecards with big-eyed dogs and cats in the 1970's! And a ceramic dog that we called "Potato Chip" eye dog!

    Ebay here I come!

I actually got into Blythe because of Gina Garan's - Blythe Photography. She was a photo student and used the retro doll from the 70's as a model in her work.

The doll was a bust for Kenner in the 70's because its freakish big head scared the children. Now she's been re-issued by Takara Japan (those crazy Japanese) and the 1970 dolls are going for up to $2,500 U.S.

So if you happen to see one at a garage sale.... :)

That girl with the saw looks a little threatening ...

The perfect love song it has no words it only has death threats
And you can tell a classic ballad by how threatening it gets
So if you walk into your house and she's cutting up your mother
She's only trying to tell you that she loves you like no other
No other, she loves you like no other.

The perfect kiss is dry as sand and doesn't take your breath
The perfect kiss is with the boy that you've just stabbed to death

I dunno man, technically they're amazing, but I can't take the subject matter.

Anything with little kids and blood kind of creeps me out.

...unless it's buried in the other answers you got in this thread that is so friggin' hard to follow in the present format. That's a great tune by late Lowell George of Little Feat, and one of my favorites from their "Waiting For Columbus" live record, which also happens to be favorite live record of all time.

    Hey Swishy!

So you're saying its from a Little Feat song? Or a Lowell George song? What's the name of that song? I have a LF comp from stinky feat yech, but of course there's no track list cause he never mastered his ABC's. :prrr:

    Thanks,

Yeah baby, I said rocket! Hehehe, it's from Little Feat's Time Loves a Hero. Great series of records around that time leading up to the classic live album Swish Daddy mentions and sadly, George's death. Dixie Chicken and Feats Don't Fail Me Now and not their best, but my favorite, The Last Record Album. Saw them open for the Who one time. Odd concert ;)

#1 British Sea Power, "It Ended On An Oily Stage"
#2 Roxy Music, "In Every Dream Home A Heartache"
#3 Little Feat, "Rocket In My Pocket"

Lowell George was the man in Little Feat until his untimely death. He was the lead singer, song-writer and lead guitarist. Without him, the band became insignificant in my estimation. He was Little Feat to me.
