Weird news of the week -- Microsoft hires Fripp for beeps
    Information Week article
VNUNet article (love the archival "hippy" photo they use for this article)

Synopsis: pretty much just what it sounds like -- Fripp has been hired to create the sounds for Microsoft's upcoming Vista (the operating system formerly known as Longhorn).

Yes, and it's funny -- one of the articles spends more time -- information-wise -- on that than anything Fripp-related. I guess they're of the mind to "wait and hear".

Well, I watched the video. Varying reports, but it was mentioned that there was 3-6 hours of this stuff. It'd be cool if he released it, as, say, The Vista Sessions.

And if he is who I think he is, I may have met that Steve, back when he was touring with Fripp and CGT. They were begging us to buy their CD, just so that they could have enough money for gas to get to the next gig.
