I love the comment about being, "the spitting image of his Dad". Yeah, because they're both bald and wrinked!

Much ado about nothing. Mr. Peabody may not agree.

Rumours of being dead or dad have worked as fine publicity vehicles for others in the past. Look what it did for Paul McCartney's career.

Van had a series of soulful albums that I loved back in the '80s I think, starting with No Teacher, then Poetic Champions, then Avalon Sunset.

Glad to hear he's still up and ticking.

    Van....
Like a lot of "genius'" can be a SOB. I've heard tales that "when in his cups" he'll be joking one minute, fire your ass the next. I think he was joking with one of his drummers in an airport once while on tour. Guy made one wrong crack, Van fired him on the spot. Like working for many musicians, it can be a minefield.

First claim to fame was the song "GLORIA" ( anybody remember that one? ) when Morrison was the lead singer with the group "THEM'. I thought he would be a real hard rocker for his career after that, but wasn't to be.

I guess its just as well, since the 'dad' story was a hoax anyway. But it is curious...maybe there were complaints. I remember that I and maybe a couple of others were less than amused by the RIP Geddy Lee thread from a few years back. But this, I thought, was completely different from that...:ciappa:

I never received any complaints nor would I have done anything had I...I love this stuff...

It's too bad the "Dad Story" turned out to be a hoax...could've been turned into a bit of an homage. If the child was a boy it could've been lil' Geddy Lee Van Morrison-Schnozz...if a girl perhaps Hazel...or Esther...:D

Either way, it still contains the same percentage of truth.

Bobsticks, it was the Geddy Lee thing that got you promoted to site mod, wasn't it?
