    Tohuvabohu
Wow, it's dead in here. Nobody talkin' jingly-jangley, no one talkin' jazz...lets try something new (for y'all to ignore).

I picked up the late-2007 release of "Tohuvabohu" from KMFDM a few days ago and have been enamored enough to plague you all with the obnoxious promo-graphic below. Twenty-three years after their inception the kids still crank.

While "Tovu" recognizes what got 'em to the dance, Sascha isn't afraid to experiment within context. A few songs sound absolutely Darkwave...want to imagine Clan of Xymox injecting methadrine into their genitals?...listen to the title track.

Ultimately, despite overt nods to influence the band remains "tanzmetal", a danceable mix of noisy analog synth with a cascading wall of churning guitars. The standard sweepingly epic lyrics are indeed a challenge with Latin, Hebrew, Spanish and some African dialects used throughout.

Needless to say, the next time the boys make it over to the Windy City I'll be there also, to haunt dark streets looking for trouble...and Lucia too.

I have no idea what this sounds like. But it looks like a video game soundtrack.
