Talking Heads Top 3 songs

Unlike bands such as U2, you can call talking Heads a band that did not over expose themselves. They made their own music regardles of being commercial success or not, and that made them critic's darling. And fans too :)

During the 80's I wasn't a Talking Heads fan but as I got older I began to appreciate their music. I have one of their greatest hits albums and a live album I think but I'm still pretty ignorant to their collection of work. I will say that I can listen to "Once in a Lifetime" over and over and never get tired of it, such a good tune.

Oh yeah and "Burning Down the House" played on MTV all the time but whenever I hear that song I always think of the Alpha Betas chanting, "Fireball, fireball, fireball" in Revenge of the Nerds haha!

A band way ahead of its time, many people don't realize how much talent was in that band. The band had spin off groups that had hits in other genre of music:

Tom Tom Club: Genius of Love

Nu Shooz: I can't wait

That song had a cool video also. His "arm chopping" bit in the video is legendery.

I see the connection between TT Club and talking Heads, but don't see no connection between Nu Shooz and Talking Heads. I Can't Wait was a big hit though, but not my type of music :)

It was the video director that was the connection between the groups, I had to go back and re-read the info, but TT Club was for sure linked to the talking heads.

As for the TomTom Club, Genius of Love was an ok little pop gem in its short, radio edit form but they did an extended dance version that was downright obnoxious, possibly the crappiest extended mix ever.

Seems like I've posted Talking Heads faves before. Today's top 3 are probably different.
