    Swish
The Swishes visit the United States of Canada.
After a short Friday flight on a big shiny aircraft carrying almost 20 people, we arrived in the land up north and proceeded to our hotel. The cabbie was a pleasant fellow, uttering at least 8 or 9 words during the 20 minute ride. He then charged me a reasonable $44 US and nodded a thank you or f.u. or something like that.

We met the RR crew at a local school where they also serve alcohol. What kind of strange people are these Canadians? Audio Bill and his wife, Forever Autumn and her husband, and Barry L. were there, and they proceeded to foist strong beer and prog cds on us, even though we had peace offerings of cigars and Snow Patrol cds. Enough of that, I thought, as they led us to the subway for dinner. No, we didn't eat on the subway, but it took us to where we were going. But I was concerned about that for a few minutes since these people are hard to understand with their thick Canadian accents. At least they didn't pull any of that French drivel on us!

We ended up an area called Danforth and the Greek restaurant they selected seemed ok at first, but we were forced to eat something called moose caca. I was scared, but somehow was able to eat most of it. Then the next thing you know a bunch of strippers were parading up and down the aisles! "What kind of eating establishment is this?" I wondered. Next thing you know, the waiter tried to steal my Visa card afterward, but I was onto him and recovered it the next day. We then headed across the street to a local watering hole for a nightcap before returning to our hotel and saying so long to the RR people.

Our trip didn't end there, thankfully, as we explored more of this city called Toronto. A very interesting trip to say the least.

C'mon Bill, you can see why Swish would have left that out can't you? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink. And what about the Buttery Swish shooters?

I'm glad that you enjoyed the Moose Caca. It's a Canadian specialty...made from real Moose.

It was a real blast to meet the Swishes. I highly recommend it to anyone else who gets this rare opportunity. Swish was a lot of fun and not at all the creepy internet predator that I had thought he would be.

And how did you like that Flower Kings disk? You left it behind in your hotel room, didn't you? :p

How could I forget the strippers?

...and have nothing better to do with our time than crochet awful CD coaster covers. I'd rather let them think that I'm butt-ugly. :p

Please tell me that you didn't make that yourself.

Well, I had to find something to fill my time when I stopped hanging around here so much. And I had lots of RR "coaster's" handy, as well. :)

Anyone want to order some? I can even personalise them with your very own compilations!

Nice job Swish Baby. Not a butt-ugly Canadian in the bunch! Too bad we don't still have the Rave Recs Gallery up. That was fun.

    It's All True!
The world is a much safer place now that Swish has returned to America.

The only thing he forgot to mention was his fear of escalators.

He tried to pass off taking the stairs as exercise, but no one was buying that.

Thanks, Swishes, for spending some of your valuable vacation time entertaining us and giving us an excuse to get out of our igloos.

If I'm ever near Hershey P.A. for the rides and the tour, I'll give you a call!

And I don't recall signing a release for that picture.

Well, if I use Sloshy's comps $8.00 U.S. For a set of eight. Vintage! :prrr:

You know that chip I took out of my tooth when I knocked it on the steel bar of the Sky Ride at the Zoo has completely worn away. Shows how time flies, eh? :biggrin5:

NICE! You guys wouldn't have had to tell me you were Canadian! You look like the real thing. But... audiobill looks suspiciously French-Canadian, non?

Nice to put faces to names!

No, you got it all wrong, I didn't trust being in front of you guys on the escalator. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I can see why someone would be afraid of falling down an up escalator. They'd keep falling...and falling...and falling...

    Hey, Bernd.

You're right about the glaze. This photo (if I recall) was taken after the round-table drinks and ceremonial gift exchange, after the harrowing ride through the underbelly of the city, after the forced feeding session of Moose Kaka, after the belly dancers, after the martinis, after the shooters -- but before the cigars. Nice glazes -- I have to admit.

    Cheers,

    Bill
