    Steve Hackett remasters

Remember that thread about us spending all this dough on cd's?

Well Imentioned that I ordered the first 4 Hackett remasters.

They came in yesterday and are slick as hell.

The artwork on the discs themselves is the cool "Famous Charisma Label" thingy and each disc has lots of bonus trax (albeit a lot of remix crap which I hate, but some live stuff).

The booklets are cool, informative, with some nice photos of Steve in his classic "rocker" pose thingy he does.

I haven't been able yet to evaluate the sonics but hope to do so tonite.

If the audio is as good as the packaging then EMI scores a winner in my book.

I'm looking forward to getting to re-know these, esp. Voyage of the Acolyte, which has never really hooked up with me...

Last night I listened to Voyageof the Acolyte on headphones.

The sonics on this disc are incredible. Whoever was in charge of the remastering did an excellent job. All of the subtle nuances are now full front and it's like a fresh new recording.

I also listened to Please Don't Touch and it has great sound.

    These discs are killer.

I've held off getting Voyage, since I have it on vinyl and want motivation to get a turntable, but I'm caving in. Where did you get this Geez?

    Camino records website.

I ordered it direct over the internet, all 4 of them came to like 55 bucks.

A nice package, it was in a big padded bag with foam wrap around the 4 discs.

Shipped to me from the UK.
