It would hard to describe him to someone who has never heard of the group, Wilco, but this guy is similar to my under-experienced ears. He definitely has a yen for old sounding country-rock, but performs it in an idiosyncratic way, with occassionally oddball instrumentation. Its like if Beck made country albums with Jeff Tweedy. Not that he's as good as those two, but its as close as I can get to a description.

I'm asking today because I hear he has a new album coming out. I have When The Sun's Gone Down and I like it pretty well.
