    Hello again

This is not a new thread, but a message to tell you I'm back again. I joint Rave Recordings from 1999 till 2006 as JanVanB and I like to be an active part of the AudioReview.
I'm a man, Dutchman, 62 and still a great music lover.
I've been very ill several times (not all the time) and have a new relation since 2006. These are the reasons to be silent for some years.

It's good to see that some 'old' members (Hyfi, ForeverAutumn etc.) still active on this forum.

Welcome back. I'm not sure we ever had much interaction but I look forward to reading about the tunes being played in your part of the world.
So, I broke into the palace
With a sponge and a rusty spanner
She said : "Eh, I know you, and you cannot sing"
I said : "That's nothing - you should hear me play piano"

I'm trying to remember you, dude, but cannot. However...

...when I read that you 'joint' Rave Recs, I did have to chuckle. I realize you're not American and will have some misspellings, but that one was too funny for me to disregard.

In any event, welcome back, and how about telling us what you're listening to right now???
I call my bathroom Jim instead of John so I can tell people that I go to the Jim first thing every morning.

If you say the word 'gullible' very slowly it sounds just like oranges.

Ha! Funny, but that goal keeper died a couple years ago.

Sometimes I think some of the posters on this board are dead, but I'm guessing that's not the case with this Dutchman.

    Hi Jan,
I have to admit that I don't remember you either, but nice to have you back and I hope that all your illnesses are behind you. The Dutchman, by Steve Goodman, is one of my favourite songs.

I prefer the studio version to this video. It's a slower tempo and more emotional.

Nah, I traded a pile of disks with Jan shortly before 1995. I may be the only American to have a custom comp of Focus right from Holland.

It's odd how life works. Everytime I listen to his Still Got The Blues comp I want to tell him how much I still enjoy it and recently, 2 weeks ago, tried to find his contact info but failed. And then BAM, he shows back up. Pretty cool I say.

On the other hand, be careful what you wish for. Case in point:
I went to the Phillies game last week on the day it was 97 degrees at game time. Car said 102 going down 95. Having a history of skin cancer and knowing our seats were in the sun, I put some sun screen on my arms and face. I hate the smell of the stuff and while driving down 95 I jokingly said "Maybe I will get lucky and someone will spill beer on me and hide the smell"

    Well it happened. Duh'Oh

    Hi ForeverAutumn,
Thank you for your showing me this song.
I didn't know this song by Steve Goodman.
The studio version is very nice too. I heard it on YouTube as well.
According to wiki this song was written by Michael Peter Smith in 1968 but was a hit for Steve Goodman in 1974.
So sad Steve Goodman died in 1984 at age of 36.

    Hi Swish,
I see that Join must be without 't'.
These days I listen to Ray LaMontagne, John Mayer and other singer-songwriters.
