NBA Finals// musical cringe inducing moment

Aretha Franklin comes out to sing the national anthem; she waits for her cue and, not only is she lip-syncing, she's terrible at it. She is a full half second behind and it gets so bad that ABC has to pull away to crowd shots. Hell, they can't even show the players' faces because they're reacting to the fiasco. I respect Franklin a great deal, but that was brutal. Too bad.

would sing America the Beautiful. But to his credit, he did a fine job. He had 2 backup singers and it came across very well, and respectful. He even dedicated it to Ronald Reagan & Ray Charles.

I missed Aretha, but it's pretty sad that she needs to lip-synch.
