Has anyone heard/have an opinion on James Blunt?

His CD was playing in the record store and I kind of liked the song that was playing, but when I plugged in at the listening station, the disk seemed to get a little boring.

A friend at work is raving about Blunt and telling me that I should pick up the CD. I'm not sold. Can anyone here provide any insight?
