    R.E.M. New album, new tour

R.E.M. is set to release a new album called Accelerate on April 1. I've got the radio on at work and they just played a bit of the first single which sounded excellent! To promote the album they will be touring with The National and Modest Mouse as support. Nice.

Here are the tour date so far, copied from their web site.

    23--Vancouver--Deer Lake Park
    29--Los Angeles--Hollywood Bowl
    31--Berkeley--The Greek Theatre

    03--Denver--Red Rocks Amphitheatre
    06--Chicago--United Center
    08--Toronto--Molson Amphitheatre
    10--Raleigh--Walnut Creek Amphitheatre
    11--Washington, DC--Merriweather Post Pavilion
13--Boston--Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts
    14--Long Island--Jones Beach Theater
18--Philadelphia--Mann Center for the Performing Arts
    19--New York City--TBA
    21--Atlanta--Lakewood Amphitheatre

Each time they've played here the show has sold out in minutes and I've yet to be able to catch them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this time round.

West of the fields, long gone
Looks like we'll be seeing them 2 nights apart, Autumn. Cool.

Their new album is supposed to be rockier than the last one. I'm looking forward to it.

I may see them but only because the National is also...

...going to be there, along with Modest Mouse. Those two bands interest me more than R.E.M. at this point. Show is in MD on June 11th, so I'll be checking with some friends to see if they want to go. Of course, this will probably sell out so fast we won't have a chance to get tickets, but you never know.

I call my bathroom Jim instead of John so I can tell people that I go to the Jim first thing every morning.

If you say the word 'gullible' very slowly it sounds just like oranges.
