Where's Satan's Kickin' Yr Dick In?

How is the latest AFI? I've heard it's somewhat different from the straight ahead punk of the early AFI. That true?

I'm really liking alot the new Electrelane The Power Out, but I've only had it for one day. Very cool, with a lot of Feelies feel.

Also been listening alot to The Question by The Slackers which is a favorite. Just picked up the latest from them titled Close My Eyes so listening to that one and liking it too.

And .....

Blonde Redhead - Misery Is A Butterfly
Modest Mouse - Good News....
David Kilgour and the Heavy Eights
Graham Parker - Squeezing Out Sparks
Silver Jews - American Water
The Libertines - Up The Bracket
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
Mink DeVille - Cabretta
Is that 10 yet?

I haven't heard that one, but I'm very intrigued, especially given the review that it got at AMG. Definitely let us know how it is.

[b]Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros - Streetcore (just keeps getting better)
Handsome Family - Singing Bones
Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts of the Great Hwy
Peter Malick Group Featuring Norah Jones - New York City
Joss Stone - Soul Sessions
Los Lonely Boys - S/T
Jackson Browne - Running on Empty
Lyle Lovett - My Baby Don't Tolerate
The Flatlanders - Wheels of Fortune
Edie Brickell - Volcano (yes - Edie Brickell - but this is nothing like her "new bohemians" stuff. This is bluesy, soulful music).

every time I've heard AFI on the radio it sounds like Jimmy Eat World, crossed with a little At the Drive In.. or to put it another way.. sounds kinda emo to me. Though I guess they've been around for a while.. but haven't really ever come through my radar before..

I'd agree with that, I really like it. There are a few techno type sounds they use as well....
