Paul Westerberg - "Waiting For Somebody"

Just listening to this old mixtape staple and I can't keep from grinning. The lyrics have a little angst in them, but man, the music is just unbridled joy. I can't think of too many songs that hit me off in quite the same way-- maybe a few Roky Erickson cuts.

No reason for this post, just felt like sharing.

This may be my favorite song of his solo work. There are a ton of Mats songs I like better, but I do like "Waiting For Somebody."

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Mats fan, but most of their stuff hits a different note than the unreserved stomp of this overlooked gem.
