My HT equipment got zapped!

You have my sympathy living in the dreaded Cowboy country, but wasn't it fun watch them get crushed with McNabb at QB in Philly, and then totally hammered with Garcia at QB in Dallas? That was oh, so satisfying.

I spent Christmas with my family up in Cherry Hill last winter, and the highlight of the day (next to all the food) was the Eagles Cowboys game. Perfect ending to a perfect day. How's Donovan been doing in the off-season. Is he healthy? The poor guy sure has been beatup a lot in his career.

Thanks for the advice on the surge protector, but Monster is sending me a new one to replace the one I had for 8 years without any problems. We even created a separate circuit for my HT equipment, so I'm sort of surprised by this. I guess I'll have to pull the plug whenever storms are approaching.

When I bought my power strip another requirement was that it had to have an 8' power cord, because I wanted to have instant access so I could pull the plug in case of emergency. It required moving the VCR over so I could get the strip closer to the end of the entertainment center and then plug it in around the corner in the dining room. In the past I'd just plug it in wherever the closest outlet was (generally behind the entertainmet center) since the cords on most of the strips were usually short. Granted, I can't beat a lightning strike to the outlet, but it just gives me a little better sense of security.

Too bad they won't replace the unit -- that's what a company like Monster should be doing.

OK - Rich - I didn't respond to your post, I was responding to Troy's. But as far as reading too much into something, maybe you should let Swish determine whether or not he was served well in his original post.

You keep harping on this, and I thought I made my position clear with this post in response to yours, when you questioned why people called this forum a clique...

I'm not arguing over whether this place is a clique or not...so what if it is? People post when they have something to say, and they don't post when they don't have something to say. Look it up. When someone posts something about a band they like, other posters respond if they like the same band, or if they have interest in the same genre, or they don't post at all if they could care less. So what? If I post about a band and no one lurking that day shows interest, then I'll take the post elsewhere, if I indeed want feedback. Why? Because its about information and yes, sharing. But I don't want someone to post some obligatory response like,
"Hey, I've never heard of them but I'm glad you've found a band you like!!!"
