This message board would not be so dead if it wasn't so slow!
    IMHO!

I know I can make all kinds of browser adjustments to speed it up, but I don't want to!

    So there! :incazzato:

New user searching out a Rave Rec would give up on this site after their first search. It seems that some of the electronic boards on Consumer Review still have some traffic, but it seems its mostly from the long-time users who have made themselves comfortable and don't care about the speed.

Oops. Oh Comely is playing on my office player and I just realized its probably not appropriate for work. Funny how you get used to the lyrics.

Neutral Milk Hotel - Oh Comely Lyrics

    Oh comely
I will be with you when you lose your breath
Chasing the only meaningful memory you thought you had left
With some pretty bright and bubbly terrible scene
That was doing her thing on your chest
    But oh comely
It isn't as pretty as you'd like to guess
    Oh comely
All of your friends are letting you blow
    Bristling and ugly
Bursting with fruits falling out from the holes
Of some pretty bright and bubbly friend
You could need to say comforting things in your ear
    But oh comely
There isn't such one friend that you could find here
    Standing next to me
    He's only my enemy
I'll crush him with everything I own

    Your father made fetuses
    With flesh licking ladies
    While you and your mother
Were asleep in the trailer park
Thunderous sparks from the dark of the stadiums
The music and medicine you needed for comforting
So make all your fat fleshy fingers to moving
And pluck all your silly strings
And bend all your notes for me
Soft silly music is meaningful magical
    The movements were beautiful
    All in your ovaries
All of them milking with green fleshy flowers
While powerful pistons were sugary sweet machines
Smelling of semen all under the garden
Was all you were needing when you still believed in me

And I know they buried her body with others
Her sister and mother and 500 families
And will she remember me 50 years later
I wished I could save her in some sort of time machine
    Know all your enemies
We know who are enemies are

    Goldaline my dear
We will fold and freeze together
    Far away from here
There is sun and spring and green forever
But now we move to feel
For ourselves inside some stranger's stomach
    Place your body here
Let your skin begin to blend itself with mine

    That reminds me...
Speaking of inappropriate songs. Hubby and I were on a cruise in February. We were sunning ourselves near the main pool, the one with the big waterslide where all the families with kids were hanging out. Upbeat music was blaring from speakers all around us. Suddenly, Green Day's Minority starts up with lyrics that include...

    a free for all
    phuk 'em all

I wonder which crew member slipped that one in there! :cornut:

    I'm kinda slow myself
but at least I'm not dead.

Hey, Oh Comely is my favorite NMH song, or tied with You've Passed as my favorite, at least (how <s>moronic</s> ironic ;) )

Ahhh... the power of the mix-tape! (I woulda said comp - but that so unpoetic)! Is that a word? :confused5:

The amorphous being known only by words on a screen, named Slosh, always comes to mind when I hear that song.

Before I bought "In The Aeroplane Over the Sea" I first heard the song on one of your creations.

But the first NMH song I heard and still love was, "King of Carrot Flowers" from a Davey "mixtape".

    Such a great album!

Hell yes this board is sloooooow!!!! It's the reason I only check in once every six months. I don't like my hi-speed internet to feel like bad dial-up. Too many f**king animated advertisements using up my bandwidth. See you in 6 months...

I wish I could play more, but this friggin board won't load on my computer at work in under four minutes. I can't wait around that long. And I have high speed DSL and no server to go through.

For some reason at home with dial-up, it only takes about a minute.

Thanks Richmon, for the news on Moraz remasters.

I'll try to visit more often, but it shouldn't be this hard.

If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it.

I'm operating on an Apple G4 iMac, the older half-basketball version with a 15" screen.

    Funny how...
...the mods'll jump on a post that's not music-related in a heartbeat, but posts like these are ignored.

    I'm just sayin'. :skep:
