From what little I've heard of My Morning Jacket I liked but The Shins are foreign to me.

    Can't vote.

Yikes! What's a Morning Jacket? Never heard them to the best of my knowledge. Does that mean I vote for the Shins?

Looking at the polls-I only have albums by Shins so this is going to be a common theme for me. I do have a Porno For Pyros CD + a solo Farrell CD, but that's not quite the same is it? I'm hurting here.

This one isn't even close for me.

The Shins are one of my favorite bands from the past few years, and I really enjoy their style of pop and their (usually) obtuse lyrics. I have nearly, if not entirely, everything they've put out (and some stuff that was never officially released) in one format or another, and have Oh, Inverted World in a couple formats.

On the other hand, while I liked It Still Moves (the only MMJ I've heard) when I first got it, I quickly tired of it, especially since it is 70 minutes long. It started to sound jam-bandish to me, which isn't my cuppa. Some of the tracks are enjoyable, but don't keep me reaching for the CD and I haven't listened to it in months.

    SHINS all the way
And the world will turn to flowing pink vapor stew.

A ruling from the judges required

What If I'm familiar with one band but not with the other? Or very familiar with one and only passingly familiar with the other? I like The Shins and have 2 albums, I have only heard a song or two from My Morning Jacket and own nothing from them, I do like what I've heard though. This is the case with most of the current polls.

    Should I vote?

I kinda figgered this might happen.

Okay, when in doubt, side with the band you're more familiar with and like. If you've heard one band and haven't heard the other, and you like what you've heard, vote. If you don't give a rat's arse about either band, or haven't heard them yet, don't vote. Or just vote random. Whatever.

Don't worry guys, we'll be arriving at the more well-known bands soon enough.
