    Beulah announces new tour dates....

and they'll be near me in June! I really want to seem them again, so barring any unforeseen circumstances, I'll be at the North Star Bar on June 2nd. I hate going to Philly on a weeknight, but it will be worth the effort.

I call my bathroom Jim instead of John so I can tell people that I go to the Jim first thing every morning.

Thanks for the Beulah heads up - I love their studio material - how are they live?
Is it a not to be missed event?

So the whole breaking up thing was just a publicity stunt? Rat bastards.

BTW, what's up with the whole Yoko thing? I thought the title was a reference to You're Only King Once, but then I read this:

Yoko Ono has asked us, as well as Yo La Tengo among others, to remix one of her old songs for an upcoming ep. Fuck yeah. Also, you can go here to see what Yoko has to say about us. Double fuck yeah.

"Here" says this in an interview with Yoko Ono:

Beulah singer Miles Kurosky said, "Yoko had to be the title since the record is about love, my growth as an artist, and the changes I've been going through as a human being. I wanted to make a more mature, confident and daring artistic statement. The word 'Yoko' says it all: change, progress and risk."

He's very eloquent. I really blessed Beulah, because they're going back to being real. Beulah are starting to do something on a different level. It's very close to the kind of writing that was done in the Sixties. It's good, and it's coming back.

Anyone have any insight into this?
And the world will turn to flowing pink vapor stew.

I saw them in Philly about 1.5 years ago at the Khyber.

Anyway, I wrote a review on the old board and mentioned how much I loved the show. The Khyber is a very small venue and it was SRO in the area they have live music. This was the tour following "The Coast Is Never Clear" and they did a bunch off that and a bunch from "When Your Hearstrings Break", and I was happier than a pig in slop. They were tight and loose and the same time, and I had a blast. I would highly recommend seeing them live and hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I know Darius saw them shortly after in NYC and said it was "pure pop pleasure" as I recall.
