    Local music angle

Once again, I was perusing the fifty-cent bin at Rasputin's, and pulled out a disc called Doc Kupka presents: Strokeland Superband. Weird kind of title, but it looked bluesy, so I opened it & read the credits. Holy crap, all sorts of big names on it, but the one that really caught my eye was David Garibaldi on drums (Tower Of Power). Yesss. A little more reading revealed these characters: Huey Lewis, vocals/harmonica, Mickey Thomas & Bill Champlain, vocals, and sh!tloads of familiar names on horns. Score! Then I read further, and it was produced by an old high school chum of mine, Rick Duncan at Nacnud Studios in Lodi, CA, a short drive up the road. I knew he had a studio, but hadn't seen anything he'd put out for a while.

Sounds good, Rick! This is one funky disc, if anyone's interested.

Anyone care to enlighten me who Doc Kupka is? ToP alumn?
