    Lindsey Buckingham

We saw Lindsey Buckingham at a local casino last night. We had been debating buying tickets, but the casino is about 1.5 hours away so we decided not to. But then we were offered comps and decided to go.

I've never been a big Fleetwood Mac fan. But, as a guitar player, I was really curious to see him play. Watchng him play is like watcing a train wreck that bursts into beautiful flames.

I've never seen anyone play like him. It was almost like watching someone who's never played a guitar and never taken a guitar lesson pick up an instrument and just hammer around on it...only it sounded fantastic!

He also has a very interesting way of holding his right (strumming) hand. It looks like his thumb is longer than his fingers, and his thumb never bends. It's like a stick coming out of his hand just plucking along the bass strings. It made his hand look deformed.

In addition he used some very interesting tunings on some of his songs. The guitar player me was very fascinated by him. The music loving me thought his songs were meh. But in spite of just okay songs, I thought it was a fantastic show.

for the same reasons you've noted, if you ever come across a copy, pick up Buckingham Nicks. that album alone made me a Lindsey Buckingham fan for life.

THE DANCE (one of the best concert DVDs ever) also shows a lot of Buckingham's guitar technique.........totally awkward..............but somehow does the job.

I'ts sorta that way for the enitre band too................Mick Fleetwood on drums.........yikes !

I have a comp of real early Fleetwood stuff WITHOUT the female vocals ruining everything. I think it was done by Davey, but not sure. It is called Mac Nuggets.

If you are interested, let me know and I can hook you up with a copy.
