On direct tv and was wondering who the younger guitar player was. Man I thought Lindsay Buckingham could play without using a pick, this guy is very good.Also thought Gregg Allman sounded awesome

Yep, Derek Trucks is the guy. Either son or nephew of Butch Trucks. Guy is pretty amazing on the guitar. He plays in mostly an open A tuning (an alternate tuning for you non-guitar playing folks). He has at least two solo albums that i'm aware of (maybe three) that are pretty solid. One is mostly jazzy stuff, while the other is a collection of blues/jazz tinged world music, if that makes any sense.

Nephew, best I remember. I remember seeing him when he was about 13 or 14, and he can definitely twang a guitar. On top of that talent, I'm pretty sure he's married to Susan Tedeschi, which indicates to me that he has a dang good eye.........
