The I'm Not hijacking Davey's comp thread with my own comp thread thread..

That's nice looking comp there Davey, ya know, I love comps. And I love it when people talk about them. I have one I just made too. Though on mine the track from JD's CLOSER is #8 instead of 11. Go figure. It has some classic indie scrawk. Not much really "new" new on here. It also has it's dark moments. Some Cure and Interpol (I'm liking them more, even though the lightly strummed riff in the beginning of "Specialist" is soooooo Joy Division) and old old punk too. I'm kinda proud of it. It's a little more "mersh" in spots.. I like to listen to it, actually it was stuck in some other case for 2 weeks so I hadn't spun it in a while. That's always kinda neat to try not listening to it for a while, then, listening to it, to see if I still liked it.

    I did.

You can't really hijack a thread with a different thread, can you? I was gonna make it one of those all encompassing "what comps have you been enjoying lately", but forgot and just made it about me. "Never Ending Math Equation" is one of my favorite Modest Mouse songs, but I've never used it on a comp because I only have the vinyl, and I never use vinyl for comps. One of these days I'm gonna get set back up with a full service stereo system. Hopefully before I get too old to enjoy it anymore

Your comp looks to be a little bit heavier than mine. OK, maybe more than a little bit. Trade ya? Can I count on you, if I fall apart? If I fall a...if I fall apart?

Yea, I haven't put any vinyl on a comp for a long time, unless it was something I stole from an older comp of mine that I got from vinyl, ya know.. The thing was I was going to post my comp in your thread, just cuz I thought it was funny we both used a CLOSER song, but then I just made my own thread, but it probably really didn't matter huh. I still can't get over how long I was mis-thinking the name of that Joy Division album.. ever since I found out about it (1988 or so), it's been "Closer" as in.. "I feel so much closer to you now than I did before.." but then finding out it was actually ment to be read as "Closer" like.. "I wish the Reds could get their hands on a good closer.." but anyway, old habits are hard to break. Yea a trade is cool w/ me.

Yeah, I've known this for about a minute and a-half, ever since reading your post.

Are you kidding me!!!???!!! Where/how did you find this out? Sure does make sense in the grand scheme of things, though doesn't it?

Good looking comp both you and Davey have put together. Joy Division is indeed an omnipresent force for good.....obviously.

I always thought of it as kind of ambiguous, but guess I've usually called it "clozer" because of the cemetary cover. It was already titled long before his death from my understanding, though. Never read anything definitive on it so it would be fun to see your source for that tidbit Jar

Hey Jar, I tried to send you a private message requesting a copy of this comp, but your PM box is full, so it wouldn't go.

I think I owe you a reggae comp too.. man my life got really crazy last winter into the spring, and I just pretty much didn't have the time, then the computer died, etc..

I'll get both of these to you soon.
