    Hey Alt-Country Jingley-Jangley Peeps...

...anyone got somethin' to say 'bout Hayward Williams? I haven't really heard his name around these parts but I suspect several of you would likey veddy much.

Hayward is a kid from Milwaukee with a penchant for layering piano and folksy guitars, while at the same time being one of thirteen people on the planet capable of making the harmonica not completely annoying. On the 2007 release Another Sailor's Dream he flirts between mainstream major-chord sensibilities and Bruce Springsteen Nebraska-style melancholy.

Hey, that sounds pretty good. How come all the reviews are from the Netherlands?

    Thanks for the tip.

    Hey Finchy,

I read that ol' boy tours regularly over there. Evidently on that side he's a bit of a draw compared to his face-in-the-crowd status over here.

Kinda like Dirk Hamilton (local boy) is here. He's virtually unknown but big in Italy, I think.

Is Chuck Prophet on that EP, or was he already gone? He joined them for a very short time in the mid-80s I recall. Their last record was released back in '92, so I haven't heard a whisper about them in years. Thanks for the reminder.

At the time I did not know who the individual members were. But, I have since found that yes, he is on that EP. This was either the first one with him, or Gas Food Lodging was. Whichever was first...they were put out fairly close together. I think Gas Food Lodging was first.

Check it out if you want a listen...
