Hey Alt-Country Jingley-Jangley Peeps...
...anyone got somethin' to say 'bout Hayward Williams? I haven't really heard his name around these parts but I suspect several of you would likey veddy much.
Hayward is a kid from Milwaukee with a penchant for layering piano and folksy guitars, while at the same time being one of thirteen people on the planet capable of making the harmonica not completely annoying. On the 2007 release Another Sailor's Dream he flirts between mainstream major-chord sensibilities and Bruce Springsteen Nebraska-style melancholy.

Now that's some old-timey stuff.

Is Chuck Prophet on that EP, or was he already gone? He joined them for a very short time in the mid-80s I recall. Their last record was released back in '92, so I haven't heard a whisper about them in years. Thanks for the reminder.
