    Hey, you stoner rawk metalheads!

I read a review of Alabama Thunderpu$$y's Open Fire somewhere, and picked up a copy. Wow! It rawks! It'd be good driving music when you're with your buds on a cool summer night on the way to a concert, shooting the devil horns out the windows. 8)

Kerrang put it, "ATP possess the kind of punk rock edge that most of their reefer-toting peers would die for...truckstop rock doesn't come any finer than this. An extended forefinger to the face of fashion."

AllMusic: If you're looking for some nice, tidily packaged, Pro Tools smoothed over rock, then you've come to the wrong place, buster. But if it's greasy, high cholesterol heavy metal that you crave, then a heaping helping of Alabama Thunderpu$$y's 2007 release, Open Fire, should certainly hit the spot. Although often lumped in with the stoner rock genre, Alabama Thunderpu$$y packs much more metallic muscle than the average stoner band — and this sonic wallop remains intact on Open Fire, despite the departure of longtime vocalist Johnny Throckmorton. New singer Kyle Thomas is one heck of a hollerer though (in the Pepper Keenan/John Garcia mold), so as a result, the group's trademark Sab-esque metal sound remains very much intact — especially on such standouts as "The Cleansing" and "The Beggar." Retro heavy metal completely devoid of gimmicks is the name of the game here — and what a treat it is to hear it in this day and age.

How can you go wrong with a cover like this???

    I guess there're some MP3s here.

RIYL: If you like Clutch or Mastodon, you'll prolly like AT.

Looks like a Frank Frazetta painting.

He use to do all the cover art for an old southern rock band Molly Hatchet

A Molly Hatchet for the new millenium. They're Mastadon without the thrash metal albatros hangin around their necks.

    I like it.

I could take or leave Alabama Thunderpussy... but Frank Frazetta is the shit. Also Boris Vallejo.

Picked up planesmistakenforstars today. Purchased for no better reason than the cover art, Mercy turns out be an imposing record by the dark wastrels from Peoria, Illinois. For a bit of info:
