Ah, to be 24 again! That was probably the most interesting year of my life, in fact.

    1987 seems like only yesterday...

    FA,
    Happy B-day!

    Doing anything special today?

Did you have a chance to make the dip? Hope you and hubby liked it. Was the cat part of your b-day festivites & presents?

Whatever you do, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks SB. I ended up not having time to make the dip after spending almost five hours in PetSmart. And, no, the cat wasn't part of the B-Day festivities...just the strangest impulse buy I've ever made. :)

For those who don't visit the off-topic forum, Hubby and I adopted a cat yesterday. 6-yr-old Brandy is the newest member of the Autumn family.

She's very sweet looking. We always look at the cats when we're at PetSmart. We got our one cat from the Human Society 12 years ago. I plan on doing some volunteer work there when I retire. Do you have any other pets FA?

Very nice kitty, FA. I hope you and hubby enjoy Brandy for a long time to come.

Here are a few shots of the little orphan, Annie, that we adopted a few years ago:

Annie is adorable and looks like a real trouble maker. LOL. But what I really want to know is...how did Rudy get down from there???

Jack, we also have two Guinea pigs. Their cage is on a table. When Brandy realized that there was something in the cage he was very curious. But once I picked him up and showed him what was there, he lost interest. I don't think that we'll have any trouble, but I'm keeping the piggies in my office with the door closed for now...just in case.

Happy B-days, characters...and many thanks to y'all three (you too Hyfi) for contributing to my musical journey (as Bernd would say). I hope the day has brought much joy...even if y'all are beyond the "celebratory" years...hehehehe

    <ducks>

    Except the lady, of course.

Jumped. Rudy is no longer with us...I took that shot back in 1991, when we lived in a loft apartment with really high ceilings. Rudy would regularly climb up to the rafters, then leap down to the floor. An amazingly, effortlessly athletic beast. I really love that pic, and I do miss that cat.

And yeah, Annie is trouble on 4 legs and an incorrigible attention-junkie.

Don't you love it! Our guy decided at 6:30 this morning that his need to be petted took a higher priority than our need to sleep. He jumped on our bed and walked all over us until we woke up and gave him some attention. I'm tired this morning, but I wouldn't trade in that kind of wake-up call for anything. :)

Sorry to hear about Rudy. But it's nice to have had such a great pet that you continue to miss them long after they're gone.

    Right back at 'cha!
Damn! I knew I forgot something yesterday

All I want is a lonely, copless, dry, unsalted stretch of curvy road so I can enjoy the gift I got for myself in October. Unfortunately I'm stuck with freezing rain :(

(Yeah, I have to post a picture.)

At least I got the music part covered.

Self-gifting is a good thing, Sloshie.

Here's my gratuitous self-indulgence, scheduled for delivery in a couple of weeks:

Aw man! You guys get cars and TVs and all I got was a stupid cat.

    Just kidding!

Nice TV Mr. M. My brother and one of my best friends both bought 52" Samsungs just before Xmas and they have beautiful pictures. Enjoy it!

Nice. Extend my congrats to Barry.

My buying spree included a BluRay player. Now I need a few BR discs, including a concert video or two. Anyone got any recs? How's that Snakes & Arrows video, FA? Do I need it if I already have the Rio one?

I'd like to replace my little 34" Sony XBR CRT HDTV but I really don't watch TV or movies enough to justify it. That and I'd have to replace the stand too, which matches my audio racks, because my center channel speaker is too big to fit between the shelves but sits nicely atop the XBR.

I probably won't buy a BluRay player either until Austin City Limits puts out some discs (or have they already?)

Not Barry. We have another brother and he's the one that got the new TV.

I don't have the Snakes and Arrows DVD. I bought the live CD and wasn't all that impressed with it so I passed on the DVD this time around.

I bought the brother with the TV a Blue Man Group BR disk for Christmas. I haven't seen it yet, but I'll be that it'll look really great on his new system.
