    Guerillas in the Mix

Wow. Outstanding comp from Sir Sloshy. Digging it mucho...many thanks.

I am, however, having a little trouble with CD-text on my system. I can prolly figure out most of these, but could you post a track list? It would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I don't think I'm alone here. Anyone else blown away, not just by the songs but the inspired sequencing as well?

Thanks man, glad you like it. It was a rush-job. I guess sometimes ya just get lucky. I wish I had listened to it before making copies and dropping them in the mail though . . .

Hey great mix there Slosh of old and new. Personally I love mixing old and new and you feature some of my all time favourites like Police and Clash and some new ones like Pinback, Decemberists, SFA and Jesse Sykes. I’ve been a Police fan for ages and the work they churned out in such a short space of time still stands out in my books. I’ve not thought about the Police Pinback link before but now I know I can hear what people mean it’s the emphasis of the sound on the up beat.

Did I read the Police tracks are from the SACD versions, my question is even though I don't have a SACD player would I hear difference compred to say the sounds of the Police box set

Speaking of Pinback I picked up Blue Screen Life recently after buying Summer In Abbadon and whilst I love that simple layered and well recorded sound, similar to the American Analog Set, I think I would struggle with a third album if they don’t develop that sound any further. Not picked up the latest Decemberists yet but it's on my list.

    Cheers
    Mike

The Police studio album SACDs are all single layer, not hybrid, so you'd need an SACD player, obviously. If you're asking if my CD-R copies sound better than the CD box set I couldn't tell you 'cause the only Police album I have on CD is Zenyatta and I don't have that one on SACD (yet, at least). I also burned a copy of their greatest hits album a bunch of years ago but that was the DTS version so, again, I have nothing to compare to. Even my old cassette copies were sourced from LP (TDK MA-Xs with Dolby C and they still sound really good ).

Usually analog-input CD-R recordings of SACDs do sound better, even when compared to hybrids' CD layer (even though that goes against all logic). Of course it's not as good as the SACD layer (just like CD-Rs of LPs).

Howdy, stranger! Very, very good to see you.

So... it only took you 6 years to form an opinion on this comp?
