All of the above post are interesting about the preformance, but for a person that grew up (late teens-earlier 20's) on Prince's work 79-83 I feel was his best. Purple Rain put him on the Superstar level and most of the work after that IMHO was just fluff. If you are able to hear his earlier stuff, where he played all the music himself you may catch what I am saying. As far as the halftime show I felt I was watching the history channel. If this was the halftime show from 1985-87 (At Prince's Peak) this would be one of the all time best ever. For one of the most watched events around the world show casing the best of American style Football you should have one of the most current popular acts doing the halftime show:

An American Idol reunion Kelly, Ruben, Fantasia (even tho I hate the show)

Princes' act was good and could have been better if Tina Turner would have been brought on stage to help in the Proud Mary song, and annonced that Prince wanted to do a tribute to Jimi and play more than a few bars.
