Free Spirit - proggish hard rock

Just to show ya I ain't gone all soft, here's some old fashioned rock. These kids dipped into dad's old Blackfoot, UFO, and Triumph albums. Nicely done, and terribly retro.

This isn't them is it? I didn't hear any hard rock. I couldn't get the Myspace to work.

My DSL leaves a bit to be desired, I'm at the end of the line. When I click the link do I have to click on anything else? Do you know if your guys have an album yet?

That 70's hard rock is what I cut my teeth on. I have several UFO and Triumph albums, at least 3 Blackfoot.

Just click the link - it goes straight to their myspace page

I'm on cable and I'm there instantly, usually - some pages take longer to load than others.

I picked up a disc by a band called Wolf that's along these lines. Check 'em out at http://www.wolf.nu/ Samples therein.

They remind me a lot of Accept.

And here's something else to check out: Brand new full full length from renowned Swedish noise rock outfit the Skull Defekts. The Skull Defekts is a band from Sweden in the very north of Europe. Their intense, monotonous, rhythmic and sexual out-rock has, since their start in early 2005, been spreading energies of various kinds to welcoming audiences and listeners. The DFX is also exploring worlds of noise, the drone and psychedelic electronics on waves. The Temple is the follow up to last years Blood Spirits & Drums Are Singing but it's deeper, harder, more sex, more occult. With a background in hardcore, garage rock, post punk and experimental music -- The Skull Defekts wears echoes of their past alongside influences from tribal roots music, sufi rituals, drone, techno, no wave, '80s Factory Records stuff and its surroundings, industrial music, the occult, underground club culture and manipulations of the mind. Get DFXed. DFX is sex, rhythm and the power of sound.

Skull Defekt is pretty wild. There's also Tarental which are along that vein.

Yngwie has a new album out called Angels of Love, the samples sound like he's gone a bit New Age or something.
