You may want to check out Neil Peart's A Work In Progress -- it's basically an instruction video combined with a behind-the-scenes into the development of his drumming on Test for Echo. There's a lot of how he thinks in there, which, in my mind, is a good thing, but I wish he hadn't spoken over his practice session. Not sure how that works on DVD (they could have used a separate channel for the voice-over), but on the videotape, he talks through the whole scene where he's practicing -- what essentially works out to a drum solo.
