    "The Doors" Rhino vinyl reissue
Wow - talk about time travel. I never replaced this album with any reissues / remasters until now, and it has been over 40 years since I listened to the full album. In contrast, back in 1967 / 68, I think I wore the grooves out. I know it never sounded this good on my dad's "hifi". There is a more expensive Analogue Productions 45rpm version, but I doubt the increase in sound quality over this warrants the extra $30 - and flipping the record twice as much takes away from the flow of each side. This Rhino version sounds excellent, if just a tiny bit compressed in the mids. This first album was always my favorite and I am now reminded why. Now where did I put my tye died t shirt?

I will have to look into that pressing.

    Thanks!

Is it a true analog pressing or is it made from a digital source. Many if not most new vinyl releases are made from digital files

According to Elusive Disc website description:

Premium High Quality 180 Gram Pressing
    • Pressed at R.T.I. in California
    • Remastered by Bernie Grundman from the Original Master Tapes!
    • Stereo Version

I have subsequently purchased several Rhino reissues, and am very happy with all of them, but I have only purchased the ones where the mastering is described similar to above.
