Does anybody know the name of the girl ...

... that sings - "I've Got the World on a String" on the MercedesBenz commercial that's currently running at least forty-eleven times every day?

Don't think I've seen it, but Google says.....

"We appreciate your interest in our commercial. The song in the advertisement of our "Strings" commercial is an original arrangement of "I've Got the World on a String" by Sound Music, and is sung by Ann M. Hayden. This original arrangement is exclusive for this advertisement and is not available for sale."

You say you haven't seen it? Either you don't watch television at all, or else Mercedes hasn't begun running the ad yet in your area of Toofreakin'hot, Arizona. So you found out the answer to my question from a Google search! I never thought of doing that ... how exactly do you do that?

Thank the good lord for small favors! I don't know who's to blame for this blasphemy of a sacrilege of an abomination of a travesty ... the "singer" or the "producer", but whoever is responsible should be shot at sunrise, IMO. I suspect the "singer" is the guilty one ... guilty of absconding with a perfectly good song and "writing" a totally new melody for it, using the lyrics and the chordal structure, but none of the original melody line - not a single note! Shameful.

Now with the rant off my chest ... just how freakin' hot is it over there (Phoenix?)?

Well, I tend to blank out commercials or do something else. Unless the music is something I really like or if it features lots of naked ladies. But I can't remember seeing any MB commercial recently. I do really like that Nissan commercial that uses the "Surfing On A Rocket" song from the new Air album. That one I'll stick around for, but I wouldn't bother if I thought it was as bad as you do the MB commercial song

I use the Google toolbar so all I did was copy from your post the song title and Mercedes Benz and paste it in and hit search - I think the first match that came up was another BB with the email response I posted from MB.

It'll probably be about 108 °F today. I'm just east of Phoenix right now but will soon be heading for the Oregon coast. Might have to get my jacket out of mothballs.
