    RIP to Max Roach

A moment of silence for one monster of a jazz drummer. While many don't really appreciate the art of drumming, this guy was at the forefront of bebop, and deserves our praise. In 1942, Roach started to go out in the jazz clubs of the 52nd Street and at 78th Street & Broadway for Georgie Jay's Taproom (playing with schoolmate Cecil Payne). He was one of the first drummers (along with Kenny Clarke) to play in the bebop style, and performed in bands led by Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Coleman Hawkins, Bud Powell, and Miles Davis. God rest his soul

I call my bathroom Jim instead of John so I can tell people that I go to the Jim first thing every morning.

If you say the word 'gullible' very slowly it sounds just like oranges.

A musician of monumental proportions--can you say "musical" drums. A huge loss to the jazz community and the brotherhood of musicians as a whole.
